sallydove - nature moths autumn

I am a painter primarily working in acrylics, botanical inks, collage and photography. A grounding in textiles brings pattern to my craft.

Everyday noticing – through close observation and ‘being’ in nature, connection is made, sparks fly. I am passionate about the life-enhancing process of daily artistic practice, changing ‘one tiny thing’ every day.

Sheds, the allotment, twilight, the moon, changing light, lichens and mosses, gardens, trees and flowers, forest fungi & foraged finds, mist, snow, people & dogs..these all enliven my spirit. The practice of being still and looking long, expands my senses, enriches everything.

Whilst most of my work is held in sketchbooks, as a visual diary and written records, I also paint on small canvases, larger pieces of wood, walls and matchboxes.
